Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (341) - HUNG HOM BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 MASTER TRILLION (J442) K C Leung Crowded near the 350 Metres.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that he was not instructed to go forward but in the early stages when caught wide he allowed MASTER TRILLION to cross runners to his inside to lead rather than being caught wide.
He said making the first turn MASTER TRILLION hung out slightly and as a result lost ground when being crossed by PEARL OF PANG'S.
K C Leung was advised, wherever possible, he must ensure he sets a consistent pace.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 FATAL BLOW (J484) L Ferraris Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping.
After the 900 Metres was steadied away from QUICK QUICK WIN.
After the event, L Ferraris reported that his mount hung out making the Home Turn and failed to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 ORIENTAL SMOKE (E467) B Thompson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 JUNEAU PRIDE (J443) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied to avoid FATAL BLOW.
After the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid FASHION LEGEND.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 GENERAL SMART (K138) H T Mo Shortly after the start was eased when crowded by BLING BLING GENIUS which shifted out.
Horse No 8 QUICK QUICK WIN (K102) M F Poon Raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 350 Metres was steadied when crowded between MASTER TRILLION which, after improving to the outside of BLING BLING GENIUS, was then crowded when taken out slightly by that runner and JOLLY JUMPER (A Badel) which shifted in before Jockey Badel made some effort to correct his mount.
A Badel was advised to exercise more care and make a greater effort to correct his mounts when they shift ground.
Horse No 9 SOMETHING JONAH (K024) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 FASHION LEGEND (J080) A Atzeni After the 900 Metres was steadied away from JOLLY JUMPER.
Horse No 11 JOLLY JUMPER (K110) A Badel After the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid MASTER TRILLION.
Horse No 12 LUCKY FIONN (J047) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) Y L Chung Delayed the start when proving difficult to load.
The barrier manners were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

Following a rails run from behind midfield, Juneau Pride just held on after getting the gaps when needed near the inside to lead 200m out for a first win after placing in three other starts. Lucky Fionn was closing with every stride to miss by a shorthead after peeling into the clear with two wider out at the 350m following a patient ride four from the rear. He's a winner waiting to happen. City Thunder ran on well to finish a close third after a wide trip with cover from midfield. He's close to a win. Jolly Jumper stayed on well for fourth without threatening the top three after a one-off trip from midfield. He's naturally coming to hand in his three starts. The sensationally backed Pearl Of Pang's gradually faded after clearing to the lead 880m out from gate 12. He hasn't produced a bad run without placing in each of his six starts. Fashion Legend ran on steadily without threatening after a one-off trip outside the eventual winner. He might be looking forward to a 1,600m trip over this course. Master Trillion only plodded after being ridden more aggressively to settle box seat from gate 14.
