Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (294) - SATURN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 HARMONY GALAXY (J266) M F Poon Lay in in the Home Straight and over the concluding stages shifted in, resulting in its rider M F Poon having to stop riding with the whip approaching the winning post to straighten his mount.
After the event, M F Poon stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer C S Shum confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 2 LUCKY TOUCH (J203) H Bowman Shifted in abruptly on jumping and made heavy contact with AMAZING AWARD.
Near the 1300 Metres was momentarily crowded between YOU'REMYEVERYTHING and AMAZING AWARD, both of which shifted ground slightly.
Horse No 4 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson reported that his mount lay in when under pressure in the Home Straight and as a result proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 GOOD GOOD (J224) B Avdulla After the event, B Avdulla stated that the intention was to hold a slightly more forward position but when runners to his inside showed superior pace in the early stages he was obliged to settle a little further back.
He said in the Home Straight GOOD GOOD finished the race off in a one-paced manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 YOUTH POWER (H358) M L Yeung On jumping raced tight to the inside of PHANTOM CYCLONE which shifted in and as a result made contact with GALE SAGA.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 7 GALE SAGA (J152) A Pouchin Was kicked by another runner when proceeding to the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Bumped on jumping.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 THE AZURE (J227) Z Purton On jumping was badly crowded for room.
Near the 1300 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid PHANTOM CYCLONE.
As a result, THE AZURE shifted out and made contact with GOLDEN DARCI.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 AMAZING AWARD (J236) A Atzeni On jumping was severely checked when crowded by LUCKY TOUCH which ran in despite the efforts of its rider.
Horse No 11 GOLDEN DARCI (H470) A Badel Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
Bumped near the 1300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 YOU'REMYEVERYTHING (E413) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 150 Metres raced tight between HARMONY GALAXY and GOLDEN DARCI which shifted out and away from LUCKY TOUCH.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Post-time favourite The Azure settled behind midfield on the rails and came with a late run near the inside to hit the front 50m out and narrowly prevail for a second win on the bounce under Zac Purton. He can win again. Punted late Highland Rahy just missed after working early on to track the leader Charming Steed from gate five. He's giving a good sight in each of his three Valley 1,650m runs this term. Harmony Galaxy came with a barnstorming run from last and widest out to make it close on the wire. Lucky Touch ran on nicely for fourth ridden for luck second last from gate 10. It was another honest effort. Charming Steed grudgingly gave way after dictating the pace from gate one. It was a much better run second up this term after a cannon bone injury in August. Amazing Award made some ground late near the inside after getting badly squeezed out at the start. He had an excuse. Youth Power only plodded after a one-out, one-back run. He's likely on or near his mark after notching a second local win earlier this month.
