Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (290) - JUPITER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HIGH PERCENTAGE (G413) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.
As this was the second occasion that HIGH PERCENTAGE had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.
Horse No 2 PRIME MORTAR (G328) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly and then bumped with YOUNG HORIZON.
After the 1100 Metres, when racing keenly, was shifted in, made contact with MR VALIANT and then was steadied to avoid CRYSTAL POWERFUL for some distance thereafter.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 OWNERS' PRAISE (H047) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to ride his mount in a more conservative manner in the early stages, however, OWNERS' PRAISE jumped well and raced in a more forward position without being pressured to do so.
He added, in his opinion, OWNERS' PRAISE would be better suited by being ridden further back in the field.
Horse No 5 NORTHERN FIRE BALL (J488) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 MEEPMEEP (H234) B Avdulla After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between VIGOR ELLEEGANT and OWNERS' PRAISE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly and was bumped shortly after.
Near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from PRIME MORTAR which shifted out.
Horse No 10 MR VALIANT (G288) A Badel On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
After the 1100 Metres was crowded for room when racing keenly and as a result became unbalanced.
In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from OWNERS' PRAISE.
Horse No 11 VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375) M L Yeung Shifted out on jumping and made contact with the hindquarters of MR VALIANT, resulting in MR VALIANT then being turned in and crowding VIGOR ELLEEGANT for a short distance thereafter.
After the 1100 Metres was checked when crowded between OWNERS' PRAISE (L Hewitson) which shifted out slightly and MR VALIANT which raced tight to the inside of PRIME MORTAR (Y L Chung) when that runner lay in and away from CRYSTAL POWERFUL (A Atzeni) when CRYSTAL POWERFUL was commencing to shift in.
L Hewitson, Y L Chung and A Atzeni were all advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Horse No 12 CRYSTAL POWERFUL (H068) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Favourite Northern Fire Ball led and never looked back for a comfortable first win at his fifth start. He made full use of gate two after catching the eye when third from gate 11 last time out. Crystal Powerful kept on well for second after a speed tracking role from gate 12. He's close to a win after giving a good sight in each of his three outings this term. Excellent Peers stayed on third best after a box-seat run from gate one. He might be close to a rating bottom. Telecom Power ran on all right for fourth after a rail run from better than midfield. He was able to back up an improved second last time out. Vigor Elleegant made some ground late near the inside for fifth travelling fourth from the rear. It was an improved effort. Harmony N Home ran on without threatening near the outside after biding his time in second last from gate 11. He didn't get the pace to suit. Young Horizon left things too late after settling three from the rear. He was too far back in the run from a tricky gate. Meepmeep beat a few.
