Race Eight : (276) - YUEN CHAU KOK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 YELLOWFIN (G326) C L Chau Bumped at the start.
Approaching the 1500 Metres shifted in and away from CAPITAL LEGEND and as a result made contact with FIGHTING MACHINE.
Bumped and taken wider near the 300 Metres.
Horse No 2 TOP GUN (J249) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 LUCK IS BACK (J398) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly, shifted out, made contact with YELLOWFIN and lost ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 TALENTS AMBITION (J136) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 APACHE PASS (D433) L Ferraris After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that he was instructed to hold an on-pace position but APACHE PASS was under pressure from the 400 Metres and gave ground in the Home Straight.
Trainer D Eustace confirmed the instructions issued.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 PERFECT TEAM (H120) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCK IS BACK.
Near the 300 Metres was taken wider by JOLLY RULER.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) K De Melo Bumped near the 1500 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 NAMJONG KINGDOM (K015) A Pouchin Raced very wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
Horse No 9 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) Y L Chung After the event, Trainer C H Yip advised that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position behind the expected leader YELLOWFIN.
He said with the pace of the event being run slightly outside of standard time in the early stages, YOUNG BRILLIANT was able to cross to the lead and this was the principal reason for its improved performance tonight.

Horse No 10 CAPITAL LEGEND (G333) A Badel Raced keenly in the early stages.
Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of LESLIE to obtain clear running and made contact with YELLOWFIN.
Approaching the 100 Metres was eased to avoid LESLIE (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted out.
Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 11 LESLIE (E471) P N Wong Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
When questioned, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to settle her mount where comfortable.
She said LESLIE began well tonight and as a result she elected to take advantage of the good start and raced in a more forward position than LESLIE'S previous race starts.
Horse No 13 ACE WAR (J509) M L Yeung Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between TALENTS AMBITION and PERFECT TEAM which shifted to the outside of LUCK IS BACK when racing keenly.
Horse No 14 JOLLY RULER (E346) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of YELLOWFIN as YELLOWFIN shifted out slightly.
After the event, H Bentley advised that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Horse No BERLIN TANGO (E120) B Avdulla Withdrawn on 17.12.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front tendon injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter YELLOWFIN.
Before being allowed to race again, BERLIN TANGO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Young Brilliant kept up a good gallop after clearing to the lead 1,300m out from a tricky gate for a second win from four starts over the dirt 1,650m. Fighting Machine found one too good yet again after a box-seat run. He's run well for seconds in three consecutive starts. Favourite Talents Ambition ran on nicely widest out for third after making his run third last from a wide draw. It was another good effort following a last-start win. Never Too Soon ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. It was a positive performance at his first go on the surface. Leslie stayed on all right after a handy run wide without cover the entire trip carrying a feather weight. Punted late, Jolly Ruler ran on reasonably well after having to come off heels for a clear run 200m out following a patient ride at the rear of the field from gate 13. Top Gun ran on without threatening settling fourth last from gate 14. It was an OK effort at his initial run on the surface. Capital Legend didn't find much when push came to shove following a one-out, one-back run. The usually consistent Perfect Team never landed a blow from towards the rear.
