Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (271) - SHA TIN WAI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MARK THE MOMENT (H088) C Y Ho Crowded shortly after the start.
Prior to the event was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
When questioned, C Y Ho sated that throughout the event he had concern with his mount's action and as a result he was reluctant to continue to ride it out fully to the end of the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, MARK THE MOMENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
Horse No 4 JUDY'S GREAT (J016) C L Chau Approaching the 700 Metres, when racing keenly, got its head up when being steadied to avoid ROBOT KNIGHT.
Horse No 6 NEW POWER (H325) M L Yeung On jumping was checked when crowded between RACINGRACE and MARK THE MOMENT which was taken out by ROMANTIC NOVELIST.
Horse No 7 DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229) A Badel After the event, A Badel; advised that from the outside barrier he was instructed to attempt to have the horse settle and race in a similar pattern to its most recent race starts.

Horse No 9 RACINGRACE (J102) L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 ROMANTIC NOVELIST (J167) B Avdulla After the event, B Avdulla reported that his mount raced untractably throughout the race before weakening in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of ROMANTIC NOVELIST, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Horse No 12 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) B Thompson Near the 600 Metres commenced to race keenly and was checked to avoid RACINGRACE.

Following a rails run from behind midfield, favourite Dragon Air Force just saw off Fortune Warrior after shooting to a narrow lead 100m out for a first win at his sixth start. Fortune Warrior ran on nicely to just miss after making his run wide towards the rear from gate 12. It was his best performance from three career starts on the surface. Nebraskan finished third without threatening the top two after poking his head in front 200m out following a wide trip prompting the pace from gate 11. He's close to a win following back-to-back placings over this surface and trip. Robot Knight ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance on the dirt surface. New Power came from near last to just edge Mark The Moment for fifth. He has performed with merit in each of his two outings on the dirt. Mark The Moment peaked on his run 100m out after a wide trip with cover from midfield. It was a better effort at his second start following an injury-induced absence. Hinokami Kagura ran on without threatening from the rear of the field after a slow start. He's not reliable.
