Recap by phillip woo

Post-time favourite Triumphant More led from gate eight and never looked back to make it two wins, once at each track and both at 1,200m. Newborn Miracle ran on nicely after a box-seat run to finish a close second. He's a winner waiting to happen after showing ability in both starts. King Oberon ran on steadily for third without threatening the top two after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was a better run following a move to blinkers. Elegant Life ran on nicely for fourth after making his run at the rear from gate 11. It was a better performance. Oriental Surprise stayed on all right after a rails run from midfield. He naturally improved on a debut ninth over the Valley 1,200m. He Was You got going late when the race was all but over travelling third last on the fence. Early favourite Colourful Winner didn't find much in the run to the wire after a speed-tracking run from the widest draw. He couldn't back up a second when allowed to get his own way in front last start.

ELEGANT LIFE was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the 450 Metres until the 350 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of CURRAHEE.

Near the 350 Metres made contact with TACTICAL COMMAND as it obtained a narrow run between CURRAHEE and TACTICAL COMMAND.

C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.

After the event, M L Yeung reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily outside the lead in the early stages.

He added near the 400 Metres when VANTASTIC CHOICE improved to his outside, his mount was reluctant to race inside that runner and as a result changed stride and became unbalanced.

He said from this point COLOURFUL WINNER did not finish the race off thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
