Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (268) - LUKFOOK JEWELLERY DEAR Q HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 CAP FERRAT (K021) C Y Ho On jumping was bumped by DILBAGH and became unbalanced.
CAP FERRAT then shifted in and was bumped on the hindquarters by TOY SOLTERO.
Between the 400 Metres and 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind AMAZING VICTORY.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 LUPO SOLITARIO (J495) J McDonald Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
C L Chau (GOLDEN ARTIE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1500 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in whilst riding it along, resulting in LUPO SOLITARIO losing its rightful running and being checked.
C L Chau was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 1 January 2025 and to expire on Monday, 6 January 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record.
Horse No 3 MICKLEY (K082) H Bowman Near the 1500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by LUPO SOLITARIO.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SKY TRUST (J161) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that after travelling well in the lead his mount gave ground over the final 200 Metres and was somewhat disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 5 FALLON (H219) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with LO PAN SPIRIT.
From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 GOLDEN ARTIE (G434) C L Chau C L Chau pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 1500 Metres (see LUPO SOLITARIO).
Horse No 8 LO PAN SPIRIT (J233) H Bentley Bumped at the start.
Horse No 9 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) A Atzeni Crowded at the start.
Near the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid GOLDEN ARTIE when that runner was taken out by CAP FERRAT (C Y Ho) which shifted out.
C Y Ho was reprimanded.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 PACKING TURBINE (J470) Z Purton The Stewards acceded to an application from Z Purton to allow him to ride 2 lbs overweight.
The explanation provided by Jockey Purton for the overweight was accepted by the Stewards.
Public announcements were made to this effect.

Horse No 12 TOY SOLTERO (J268) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly, shifted out, made contact with CAP FERRAT and lost ground.

Early favourite Mickley turned for home two from the rear and wove a run near the inside to take control 100m out for a first win at his second local start. Cap Ferrat ran on nicely through the middle for second after making his run four back on the fence. It was an eye-catching effort carrying top weight on his local debut. Packing Turbine stayed on nicely for third after a box-seat run. He was able to build on a pleasing sixth on his local debut over a shorter 1,200m. Amazing Victory found a few too smart after a prominent run. He's as honest as the day is long. Silvery Breeze ran on nicely to just miss a top four spot after biding his time third last from gate 14. It was another good effort. Lo Pan Spirit gradually faded after prompting the pace to the outside of Sky Trust from gate 12. He's a bit more effective over 1,400m. Sky Trust was on his tippy toes just underneath the 100m after getting softened for the lead from gate one under a substitute rider. Fallon ran on without threatening from near the rear.
