Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (256) - NIGHTJAR HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 FLYING HIGH (E204) M Chadwick After the 300 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by ATOMIC FORCE which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 3 ATOMIC FORCE (G221) H Bentley Crowded at the start.
Passing the 250 Metres was checked to avoid CANDLELIGHT DINNER which, after laying in in the early part of the Home Straight, then shifted out abruptly away from YOUTHFUL SPIRITS as it was being corrected by its rider K Teetan.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris Bumped on the hindquarters at the start.
Near the 800 Metres Jockey L Ferraris was required to reposition his foot in the stirrup.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 FAST RESPONDER (J295) L Hewitson Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) Z Purton Approaching the 350 Metres raced tight to the inside of DO YOUR PART after obtaining a narrow run between DO YOUR PART and CELESTIAL HARMONY.
Horse No 7 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) K Teetan Lay in in the early part of the Home Straight and passing the 250 Metres ran out as it was being corrected by its rider.
The racing manners of CANDLELIGHT DINNER were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, CANDLELIGHT DINNER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial where it is required to be ridden out to the finish of that trial.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 MIDORI GLORY (J248) A Pouchin Shifted out at the start and was bumped on the hindquarters, resulting in MIDORI GLORY and A Pouchin becoming unbalanced.
After the event, A Pouchin reported that his intention was to be more forward in the race, but after jumping awkwardly and becoming unbalanced at the start, his mount settled further back and found it difficult to respond when asked for an effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) B Thompson Shifted in at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Horse No 10 HEROIC MASTER (G394) A Atzeni On jumping was crowded between CELESTIAL HARMONY and MIDORI GLORY, both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind MIDORI GLORY.
Horse No 12 DO YOUR PART (J444) A Hamelin On jumping was checked when it shifted in and away from SPORTS LEGEND, resulting in it making contact with the hindquarters of YOUTHFUL SPIRITS.

Atomic Force dashed well to get up in the dying stages after having to rebalance when hampered by the erratic Candlelight Dinner near the 200m following a rail run from midfield for a third win from 31 starts. Youthful Spirits was just touched off late after leading from gate seven. He should get away with a race shortly after giving a cheeky sight to place in back-to-back runs. Heroic Master dashed well with two wider out after making his run one from the rear. It was another good run following a placing last start at Sha Tin. Early favourite A Americ Te Specso came with a huge bid late down the outside to just miss a placing settling last from gate four. It was a solid effort on his season reappearance and he is better suited over 1,200m. Happy United just held his ground after a prominent run along the inside. It was an improved effort at his third Valley 1,000m run this term. Sports Legend just held his ground after making his run with cover outside Happy United. It was a positive showing at his first run following a tendon injury. Flying High just plodded after settling one off the fence in midfield.
