Recap by phillip woo

Good Luck Win led and fought back to reclaim the lead 50m out when headed by Snowalot 450m out to produce an upset win. He had shown nothing in eight prior starts but was re-blinkered for this run. Snowalot found one too good after taking off three wide from midfield 650m out to lead 450m out. It was his best effort. Happy Daily ran on nicely with two wider out for third ridden for luck third last from gate 11. It was a good run carrying top weight following a win. Sturdy Ruby stayed on a well for fourth after a handy run with cover from gate one. It was another honest effort over his favourite Valley 1,650m. Ninja Derby only plodded when asked for an effort after settling one-out, one-back from the 1,100m. He couldn't back up a near win last time out. Firefoot came up one-paced after handing up the early lead to sit box seat. He failed to follow up a near win last start. Tradition only held his ground after settling on the rail in midfield. He will be looking forward to Class Five. Take Action ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. He was suited by the muddling pace.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 GOOD LUCK WIN (J135) Y L Chung When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer K H Ting stated that since being transferred to his stable he had identified that GOOD LUCK WIN was not comfortable racing around other horses and for this reason he reapplied blinkers to the horse.

He said this together with GOOD LUCK WIN being assisted by the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time were the reasons for the horse's improved performance tonight.

Sent for sampling post-race.
