Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (254) - THE HONG KONG GOLF CLUB CENTENARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.
Held up making the Home Turn.
Horse No 2 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 HEALTHY GOLF (J424) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly and then shortly after was steadied away from KINGLY DEMEANOR which shifted out slightly.
After the event, L Ferraris reported that soon after the 300 Metres his mount hung in and as a result made contact with ME TIME which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 4 SATIRICAL GLORY (H073) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, SATIRICAL GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 6 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 APOLAR FIGHTER (J169) A Atzeni Shortly after the start shifted in and away from SATIRICAL GLORY and bumped NORTHERN BEAST.
Horse No 9 ME TIME (J074) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 300 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Near the 100 Metres was disappointed for clear running between DRAGON STAR and DRAGON DELIGHT and was then shifted to the outside of DRAGON DELIGHT where it raced tight over the concluding stages to the inside of FLYING SILVER.
Horse No 10 COURIER MAGIC (H290) B Thompson After the event, B Thompson reported that his mount began well today and as result settled in a more forward position than its previous race starts.
He said, in his opinion, COURIER MAGIC did not run out the 1800 Metres of tonight's event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 DRAGON DELIGHT (G395) E C W Wong Apprentice E C W Wong, who weighed in at 115 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight.
Trainer D A Hayes confirmed the instructions were to ride DRAGON DELIGHT with cover.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Punted late, Can't Go Wong dashed well down the outside to take control just underneath the 100m after settling in fourth last for a second win at his 30th start. He appreciated the fast pace and step up to 1,800m. Dragon Delight stayed on nicely to finish a close second after settling one-out, one-back from gate 10. He handled the rise in trip without a hitch after some good performances over the Valley 1,650m. Northern Beast ran on late near the inside for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over this course. Me Time ran on well for fourth but didn't have a clear crack at them from the 150m until the 50m following a patient ride at the rear from gate 11. He should have finished closer. Flying Silver was just nicked for fourth prize money after a rail run in midfield. It was another honest performance. Dragon Star succumbed late for sixth after working forward three wide to eventually sit one off the rail outside the genuine pace of Kingly Demeanor 1,300m out. It was a good run in defeat. Favourite Escape Route ran on without threatening after making his run five back.
