Horse No 1 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) M F Poon Shortly after the start was crowded between SUNSTRIDER and EIGHTEEN CARAT which shifted out.
Horse No 2 SO WE SING (J367) A Pouchin After the event, A Pouchin reported that from the inside barrier he was instructed to hold a more forward position as SO WE SING is one-paced.
Trainer C W Chang confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 3 PRAY FOR MIR (J245) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and became unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 STAR MAC (J053) K Teetan After the event, K Teetan reported that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Heavily-backed Californiatotality tracked the leader Pray For Mir from gate 12 and took control near the 100m for a fourth win from 14 starts. Pray For Mir wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the run from gate seven. It was a return to form with a step up to 1,800m. Bravehearts ran on nicely for third from behind midfield. It was another solid effort carrying 10 pounds more with a step back in distance off a 2,000m win. Sunstrider ran on well for fourth after making his run one-off outside Bravehearts. It was another honest effort, but he keeps finding a few too good. Eighteen Carat just held his ground after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He prefers a 2,000m trip. Favourite Family Jewel ran on without ever looking a threat with two wider out after travelling five back and one off the fence following a tardy start. Star Mac made some ground without menacing after a patient ride fourth last from gate 10. The step up to 1,800m failed to work the oracle after finding the line well to place in two prior runs over 1,600m.
