Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Giavellotto took advantage of a rails run from midfield and overcame a bad check at the top of the straight go win going away 170m out. Well-backed late Dubai Honour ran on nicely near the inside for second after making his run three from the rear. It was another solid effort following runner-up efforts in Germany and the United Kingdom. Japan's Stellenbosch found a couple too good after sustaining her move from near last at the 600m to lead 250m out as the favourite. Ensued stayed on nicely for fourth after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was a huge effort with a step up to 2,400m by the local runner. Luxembourg came up one-paced over the final 150m after poking his head in front 300m out following a wide without cover run from around midfield. He had an excuse. France's Marquisat ran on without threatening after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. Five G Patch just held his ground when asked to go settling behind midfield on the fence. He's just not good enough at this level.
