Recap by phillip woo

Happy Park chased the speed outside Lucky Blessing, hit the lead 200m out and held off the late surge of Brilliant Express for a maiden win at his sixth start. Favourite Brilliant Express closed off nicely for second after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a solid effort on his seasonal reappearance off a 147-day break. City Thunder stayed on a close third but did get every chance following a prominent run along the inside. He's close to a win. Punted late Mr Energia made up good ground late for fourth after settling fourth last from gate 10. It was another honest performance. Monarch County made up noticeable ground late near the inside settling second last after a sluggish start and interference soon following the jump. He hasn't had the best of runs in any of his three career runs but this was clearly his best effort. Invincible Lucky made decent ground late with one wider out settling third last from an outside draw. He needed that run off an injury-induced absence.

Horse No 3 RUN RUN TIMING (H403) J McDonald Shortly after the start shifted in and was bumped.

Approaching the 300 Metres was crowded between MR ENERGIA and DAY DAY VICTORY which was taken out by BRILLIANT EXPRESS (H Bowman) when that runner shifted to the outside of FORTUNE BOY to secure clear running.
