Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (228) - MODY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 SUPREME AGILITY (J267) M F Poon Had its right front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Jumped only fairly.
Held up for a short distance on the Home Turn.
Horse No 2 APACHE PASS (D433) L Ferraris Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running between FUN TOGETHER and FRANTANCK.
Horse No 3 FRANTANCK (H429) L Hewitson Bumped on jumping.
After the event, L Hewitson reported that his mount did not show its usual early pace and as a result took some time to be able to race outside the lead.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 5 TALENTS AMBITION (J136) H Bowman Shifted out at the start and made contact with FRANTANCK.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 WINNING STEPS (G420) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 8 MUST GO (J133) B Avdulla After the event, B Avdulla stated that when caught wide in the early stages he elected to continue to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 9 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 11 RED MAJESTY (E028) M L Yeung Knuckled on jumping.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 THESIS (H111) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when improving into a narrow run between FRANTANCK and MUST GO and as a result did not obtain clear running until after the 200 Metres.
Horse No 13 FUN TOGETHER (H041) M Chadwick At declaration time, A Hamelin was declared as the rider of both JOLLY RULER and FUN TOGETHER.
It was established that A Hamelin had a firm commitment to ride JOLLY RULER.
As such, the Stewards permitted M Chadwick to be substituted as the rider of FUN TOGETHER.
For this declaration error, A Hamelin was fined $2,000.
After the event, M Chadwick reported that his mount raced too keenly in the lead and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Favourite Talents Ambition was caught wide near the tail but ran on down the outside to just wear down Fighting Machine down the outside for a second win from nine starts. Fighting Machine wouldn't go down without a fight after moving to the lead near the 200m following a wide without cover trip from midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen in this grade. Perfect Team kept finding to just take third after making his run three from the rear. He is always a chance on this surface. Specked late Winning Steps came from last to nearly snatch third. It was a good effort with a switch in surfaces off a midweek run at the Valley, but he requires 1,800m. Old-timer Apache Pass kept on a one-paced fifth after a prominent run on the fence. It was a better effort on his return to the dirt. Supreme Agility ran on without threatening settling third last from a tricky gate. He's crying out for 1,800m on this surface. Jolly Ruler had no excuse after a handy run with cover. He might be looking forward to a downgrade and return to the Valley.
