Race Six : (226) - MIDDLE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) Z Purton Near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from ON THE LASH.
Horse No 2 EXCEL WONGCHOY (J194) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 BILLIONAIRE SECRET (G303) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event, M Chadwick reported that his mount travelled fairly during the event but did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 DEVILDOM (H445) A Pouchin Jumped awkwardly.
The performance of DEVILDOM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DEVILDOM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 6 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 ENSHINE (J196) C L Chau Approaching the 1500 Metres raced tight between NEVER PETER OUT and DEAL COMPLETED which shifted in and away from MILES AWAY.
The performance of ENSHINE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, ENSHINE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 8 RELIABLE PROFIT (G462) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 JUBILATION (G029) J McDonald From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 11 HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER (J002) Y L Chung When questioned, Y L Chung stated that his instructions were to endeavour to hold a forward position on his mount.
He said when HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER showed good pace in the early stages, he was able to continue forward to cross runners to his inside and lead.
He added that the instructions issued today were consistent with previous race starts, however, on those occasions HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER did not show sufficient pace to enable him to comply with those instructions.
Horse No 12 MILES AWAY (J221) A Atzeni Near the 1500 Metres was steadied away from HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER (Y L Chung) which shifted in when not quite clear.
Y L Chung was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 14 SOARING BRONCO (J162) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly.

Favourite Reliable Profit defied a wide without cover trip settling behind midfield from gate 13 to make it three wins on the bounce despite a rise in trip following a return to dirt racing. Excel Wongchoy ran on nicely to finish a close second after getting caught wide early until slotting one-off with cover in midfield. It was another good performance. Happydearhappydeer gave a cheeky sight dictating the run from gate 12 for third at massive odds. It was a vastly improved effort. Money came late for Never Peter Out who found a few too good after a box-seat run. It was another honest effort. Northern Beast ran on late for fifth after biding his time four from the rear. It was a positive effort carrying top weight on his dirt debut. Punted late Soaring Bronco ran on without threatening after a wide without cover trip on the back of the eventual winner. Forever Folks ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. He does appear from recent runs to be on his mark following a win.
