Recap by phillip woo

Affordable straightened two from the rear and took the short route home to lead 80m en route to a first local win at his 12th start. Management Folks found one just too good after turning the final bend four deep following a rails run from behind midfield. He is a winner waiting to happen. Favourite Charity Gain ran on nicely to finish a close third despite getting caught wide with cover travelling behind midfield. It was another solid effort carrying top weight. Punted late Serangoon wove a run near the inside from last to just take fourth. It was a return to form after failing to fire a shot in his previous two starts. Hakka Radiance ran on well for fifth after switching into the open with one wider out on straightening following a patient ride second last from gate 12. He's gone all right in back-to-back runs on the turf. Perfect Pairing ran on without threatening from towards the rear. He's performed OK in both Valley runs from five starts this term but is limited. Dragon Star had his chance after chasing the leading pair one off the fence with cover but didn't get the 2,200m trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (215) - BEN NEVIS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 2200Meters

Horse No 1 CHARITY GAIN (H431) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SERANGOON (H296) H Bentley After the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running to the inside of PEGASUS GENERAL and shifted to that runner's outside where it obtained clear running near the 200 Metres.

Horse No 4 PERFECT PAIRING (J331) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly.

When questioned, H Bowman stated that in the Home Straight PERFECT PAIRING lay in and proved difficult to ride out.

Notwithstanding this explanation, Jockey Bowman was advised that whilst the Stewards were satisfied that his riding over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he should, wherever possible, continue to ride his mounts out to the finish.

Horse No 6 AFFORDABLE (J242) J McDonald Jumped only fairly.

In the middle stages raced keenly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that his instructions were to lead the event, but his mount did not show sufficient pace to do so.

He said after racing outside the early leader SOLAR GOGO, ARTHUR'S KINGDOM did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of ARTHUR'S KINGDOM was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, ARTHUR'S KINGDOM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 CONFRINGO (J322) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 9 MANAGEMENT FOLKS (E496) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.

Near the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of DRAGON STAR which shifted in slightly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 HAKKA RADIANCE (J105) C L Chau Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of CHARITY GAIN to obtain a clear run.

C L Chau was warned for raising his whip arm above shoulder height on several occasions in the Home Straight.

Trainer C S Shum confirmed that his instructions to C L Chau were to ride HAKKA RADIANCE in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the outside barrier.

Horse No 11 SOLAR GOGO (H390) A Hamelin After the event, A Hamelin reported that from the inside barrier his instructions were to hold a forward position but not necessarily to lead.

He said when his mount jumped well he was able to hold the lead without being unduly pressured to do so.

He added that from the 600 Metres SOLAR GOGO came under pressure before weakening noticeably in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SOLAR GOGO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR GOGO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 12 PEGASUS GENERAL (G189) M Chadwick Held up making the Home Turn.

Horse No MISTER DAPPER (H376) L Ferraris Withdrawn on 25.11.24 by order of the Stewards (stable transfer) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter HAKKA RADIANCE.
