Race Nine : (190) - THE BOCHK JOCKEY CLUB CUP - Class G2 - 2000Meters
Horse No 1 ROMANTIC WARRIOR (E486) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 NIMBLE NIMBUS (E249) C L Chau Near the 1900 Metres was steadied away from MONEY CATCHER when being shifted behind that runner.
Horse No 3 FIVE G PATCH (G286) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 ENCOUNTERED (G236) H Bowman A Atzeni (KA YING GENERATION) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of ENCOUNTERED, resulting in ENCOUNTERED having to be checked away from the heels of KA YING GENERATION.
A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 18 December 2024 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
Horse No 7 KA YING GENERATION (J075) A Atzeni A Atzeni pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 150 Metres (see ENCOUNTERED).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 ENSUED (H452) K Teetan K Teetan was warned for using his whip in a manner where his whip arm was raised above shoulder height.
Horse No 10 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start raced tight between ENCOUNTERED and WINNING DRAGON.
Near the 1200 Metres shifted out to start a forward move and raced wide and without cover thereafter.

Odds-on favourite Romantic Warrior drew clear from the 300m marker after angling into the open approaching the final bend to make it 16 wins from 21 starts and six on the bounce. He's a superstar and will be the one to beat yet again in next month's Hong Kong Cup. Ka Ying Generation kept on gamely to just hold second after a box-seat run. It was a return to form over his favourite 2,000m. Nimble Nimbus ran on well to make it close for second after settling on the rail behind midfield. He's as honest as the day is long. Ensued just failed to get up for a placing after slotting one off with cover from a wide draw 1,300m out. It was another good run following a Group Three win last start over 1,800m. Encountered ran on for fifth without threatening the top four after biding his time one from the rear. He's improved from one run to the next from three starts for his new trainer this term. Money Catcher just plodded when the race got serious after a prominent run one off the fence. He's beyond his better days.
