Race Eight : (189) - THE BOCHK PRIVATE WEALTH JOCKEY CLUB MILE - Class G2 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 VOYAGE BUBBLE (E436) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BEAUTY ETERNAL (H008) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that his mount raced keenly in the lead and would not settle.
He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight he had some concerns with the action of BEAUTY ETERNAL near the 300 Metres and from that point the horse did not respond to his urgings.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of BEAUTY ETERNAL was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY ETERNAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 3 STRAIGHT ARRON (G435) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 BEAUTY JOY (E058) M Chadwick Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 900 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from TAJ DRAGON.
Horse No 5 GALAXY PATCH (H399) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
When questioned, C Y Ho stated that his instructions were to settle his mount where comfortable.
He said GALAXY PATCH jumped only fairly and as a result settled further back than he anticipated.
He further stated that in the early stages GALAXY PATCH raced a little keenly and when he observed HAPPY TOGETHER was caught in a three wide position without cover, he was of the opinion his best option was to obtain a trailing position behind that runner.
He said whist acknowledging the early stages of the event were run inside of standard time, when a number of runners were racing keenly to his inside, this had also influenced his decision to obtain the trail behind HAPPY TOGETHER.
He added that after improving behind HAPPY TOGETHER near the 900 Metres, BEAUTY JOY then commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied away from TAJ DRAGON which resulted in GALAXY PATCH being taken four wide where it raced without cover thereafter.
He said whilst he had attempted to prevent BEAUTY JOY from shifting out, he was not in a position to do so and was concerned that had he persisted, BEAUTY JOY would have been placed in an awkward position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 HAPPY TOGETHER (G446) A Badel Passing the 1300 Metres was steadied when crowded between CHANCHENG GLORY and TAJ DRAGON (A Atzeni) which shifted in and away from VOYAGE BUBBLE (J McDonald) after racing tight to the inside of that runner.
Both A Atzeni and J McDonald were advised to exercise more care.
For a short distance after this HAPPY TOGETHER raced keenly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 TAJ DRAGON (H164) A Atzeni Approaching the 150 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind HAPPY TOGETHER.
Horse No 9 CHANCHENG GLORY (H212) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Late-fancied Voyage Bubble stalked the pace from the widest draw, rushed to the lead 300m out and kept on gamely for a seventh win from 19 starts and fourth from nine runs over 1,600m. He was able to build on a solid second after a tough run first up this term. Punted late, Chancheng Glory ran on nicely to finish a close second after a prominent run on the fence. He has terrific mile form. Favourite Galaxy Patch whacked away late for third after covering a tonne of ground when travelling towards the rear coming to the final bend. He had an excuse. Specked late, Happy Together stayed on nicely for fourth after improving three wide from midfield to sit third without cover 800m out. He's an honest performer. Beauty Joy ran on for fifth without threatening the top four after a one-off trip from midfield. Straight Arron came from last at the top of the straight to finish next best. He's better suited over a longer trip. Taj Dragon just plodded after a one-out, one-back trip. He doesn't run out a strong mile trip.
