Race Five : (186) - BOCHK WEALTH MANAGEMENT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 FLYING HIGH (E204) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 2 CARROLL STREET (D489) P N Wong Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 3 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris When questioned regarding his riding from the 600 Metres and the reason his mount shifted in and away from the outside rail, L Ferraris stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position but not to make use of his mount to do so as YOUTHFUL SPIRITS had not finished its races off well at its previous starts.
He said after sharing the lead in the early stages, from the 600 Metres he endeavoured to encourage his mount to change its lead leg as it was laying in.
He added when YOUTHFUL SPIRITS failed to change its lead leg, it continued to lay in which resulted in it shifting in and away from the stand rail and allowing FAST NETWORK to improve to its outside.
Having considered his evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation provided by Jockey Ferraris.
Horse No 4 ALPHA ONE (J435) M Chadwick After the event, M Chadwick stated that after holding an on-pace position, his mount was unable to finish the race off over the concluding stages when placed under pressure.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 FAST NETWORK (J358) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 MIDORI GLORY (J248) C Y Ho After the event, C Y Ho could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to finish the race off over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 HEROIC MASTER (G394) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 DASHING DRAGON (J464) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 11 KING PROFIT (J539) M L Yeung M L Yeung was fined the sum of $3,000 for initially weighing out with two girths and surcingles which required his saddle being returned from the saddling area in order for him to be re-weighed.
Horse No 12 POLARIS (J404) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 14 MEGA BONUS (E184) H T Mo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No BABY CRYSTAL (H081) H T Mo BABY CRYSTAL, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 16.11.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).
Before being allowed to race again, BABY CRYSTAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Firming to jump the odds-on favourite, Fast Network drew clear after hitting the lead near the 200m near the stands side for a third win from four starts. He has a very bright future. Heroic Master ran on nicely near the far side to grab second 50m out after making his run from behind midfield. He's now placed in two of three starts over the straight 1,000m. Super Fortune stayed on nicely to just take third after sitting near the far side in better than midfield. He can produce a good run now and then over the straight 1,000m. Flying High got going late to just miss a placing settling towards the rear on the grandstand side. He rarely produces a bad run over the straight 1,000m. Polaris ran on reasonably well near the stands side for fifth after a patient ride three from the rear. It was a better effort at his first go over the straight 1,000m from five starts this term. Carroll Street ran on without threatening on the far side travelling one from the rear with a 10-pound claimer in play. He's beyond his better days.
