Race Six : (171) - PANASONIC JAPAN MADE SYSTEM KITCHEN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 WHIZZ KID (E392) H Bowman On a number of occasions after the 400 Metres was bumped by WONDER KIT which shifted in and away from TOMODACHI KOKOROE.
After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and travelled satisfactorily in the early stages when positioned behind WUNDERBAR.
He said when WUNDERBAR shifted towards the outside rail, WHIZZ KID was left racing without cover, did not travel well thereafter and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Following a speed-chasing run, Magic Control held off odds-on favourite Wunderbar after moving to the front 550m out for a second win for his new trainer this season. Wunderbar came up just short after prompting the pace from a low draw. He's better suited over 1,200m. I Give kept on well for third after dictating the early run from gate eight but he was no match for the top pair. It was a career-best effort in a higher grade. Bundle Of Charm ran on for fourth after a midfield run two off the stands side. He is an honest sprinter. Dancing Code just plodded when asked for an effort from around midfield. He is better suited over a longer sprint trip. Wonder Kit just held his ground from around midfield sitting near the far side from a low draw. Tomodachi Kokoroe never looked a threat travelling midfield in the middle of the course. He's not a straight 1,000m horse. Packing Treadmill only got by one struggling rival from the rear of the field. Whizz Kid was never a threat after jumping awkwardly from a low draw.
