Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (159) - TAI LAM CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SUPER ELITE (H247) H Bowman Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start between SUPER EAGLE and SPEEDY CHARIOT which shifted out slightly.
After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount settled further back in the field when it commenced awkwardly.
He added over the concluding stages he could not fully test SUPER ELITE when positioned behind SAME TO YOU and in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with the run of his mount.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 ACE TALENT (H046) E C W Wong After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
Horse No 3 ISLAND GOLDEN (H018) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SAME TO YOU (H057) B Avdulla Approaching the 100 Metres B Avdulla dropped his left rein for a short distance and then dropped his whip.
A short distance later, SAME TO YOU was then steadied when it shifted out towards ISLAND GOLDEN (M F Poon) as that runner shifted in.
M F Poon was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 5 SPEEDY CHARIOT (H193) Z Purton Over the concluding stages was steadied when crowded by SUPER EAGLE (K Teetan) which shifted in.
K Teetan was severely reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.
Noted to have sustained an abrasion to the left front fetlock after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295) C L Chau From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 300 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between HAPPY FEELING and ALLOY KING which shifted out slightly.
As a result, JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP was shifted to the inside of ALLOY KING to obtain clear running.
Horse No 9 COOL BLUE (H011) M Chadwick Slow to begin.
Horse No 10 HAPPY FEELING (H443) B Thompson Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 12 WIND SPEEDER (E281) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

The well-backed Island Golden just scrambled in after moving to the lead 250m out following a speed-chasing run from gate six. It was his second win from 20 starts and first from three starts over the Valley 1,200m. It was not a surprise after placing in his opening of two 1,400m runs from outside draws this term. Punted late, Super Eagle made it close on the wire after taking advantage of a better draw to travel one-out, oneback. He is a winner waiting to happen at this level. Joyful Friendship ran on late to finish a close third after biding his time two from the rear. He was able to build on a closing sixth first up this term. Favourite Speedy Chariot ran on steadily for fourth after getting impeded on a pair of occasions over the final 200m. Wind Speeder came from last and widest out for fifth. He needs to draw a better gate after running on well from outside barriers in his past three starts. Same To You had no excuse after a box-seat run. Plunged late in betting, Ace Talent had little left in the tank 100m out after rolling to the front from gate 12. He's a 1,000m horse.
