Horse No 1 FLYING HIGH (E204) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 2 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) H Bowman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 4 RED ELEGANCE (H241) M Chadwick Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of HORSEPOWER.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 ALLGREEKTOME (H007) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson reported that the intention was to find a handy position with cover.
He said in the early stages when RED ELEGANCE was positioned to his inside, he was obliged to allow ETERNAL FORTUNE to go forward and cross that runner and race outside the lead to avoid racing wide.
Horse No 8 BUNTA BABY (J465) K Teetan Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between FLYING HIGH and HAPPY UNITED which jumped awkwardly and shifted in.
Horse No 9 HAPPY UNITED (H208) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and was bumped on the hindquarters.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 HORSEPOWER (J431) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 VICTORY SKY (J540) A Atzeni Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of HAPPY UNITED to continue into clear running.
Horse No 12 SUMMIT CHEERS (E221) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
After the event, A Badel reported that his mount failed to stretch out in the early stages despite his efforts to ride it along.
He added that he could not identify anything amiss with the horse.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horsepower made his run with cover from midfield and flew home down the outside to just deny long-time leader Allgreektome. It was a smart debut performance in Hong Kong. Allgreektome gave a cheeky sight after turning the final bend two lengths on top following a front-running role from gate 12. He has had a stop-start sort of career but is good on his day. Eternal Fortune stayed on well to finish a close third after tracking the speed one off without cover. He is close to a win. Red Elegance ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another genuine performance carrying more weight following a win. Atomic Force just finished out of the placings after a handy run along the fence. He rarely produces a bad run sprinting over this course. Healthy Healthy ran on without threatening after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He is more effective over 1,200m. Youthful Spirits was disappointing after tracking the leader along the inside.
