Race Six : (134) - SHENZHEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) B Avdulla After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount is better suited on the Sha Tin track and this was the main reason for its disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229) A Atzeni When caught wide and without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and obtain a position outside the lead approaching the 1000 Metres.
Horse No 5 PERFECT PAIRING (J331) H Bowman Approaching the finish could not be ridden out when improving close behind ARTHUR'S KINGDOM.
Horse No 6 DRAGON STAR (H128) M F Poon Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 7 CHARITY GAIN (H431) C Y Ho Crowded at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 HAPPY HERO (G322) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event, L Hewitson stated that in accordance with its usual racing pattern from wide barriers, he was asked to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He added that in the Home Straight HAPPY HERO did not respond to his riding and was somewhat disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 JUBILATION (G029) M L Yeung M L Yeung was warned in relation to raising his whip arm above shoulder height over the concluding stages.
Horse No 10 ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 ME TIME (J074) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 4 INTREPID WINNER (G144) K De Melo Whilst being saddled fell over and took some time to regain its feet.
Acting on veterinary advice that INTREPID WINNER was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, INTREPID WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Charity Gain got going late from midfield to overhaul long-time leader Authur's Kingdom 50m out for a first win at his third start. Favourite Arthur's Kingdom gave another cheeky sight after turning the final bend two lengths on top. It was another fine effort following back-to-back wins in Class Five. Punted late Dragon Star just held on for third after a speed-tracking run from gate six. He relished a return to the course and distance of a second two runs ago. Me Time ran on steadily after saving ground in midfield to just secure fourth prize money. He is close to a win. Jubilation came from last to just miss the frame. It was another positive showing following a closing third at Sha Tin. Perfect Pairing made noticeable ground late along the inside after a patient ride two from the rear. It was an improved effort with a switch to the Valley. Pegasus General just held his ground after a handy run. He will be looking forward to a downgrade. Intrepid Winner was scratched by the stewards on veterinary advice.
