Recap by phillip woo

Second favourite Denfield settled midfield on the rails, moved to the lead near the 200m and eedged clear for a third win from 16 starts over the Valley 1,200m. Young Horizon ran on nicely to finish a clear-cut second after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another good effort following a Class Five win. Lakeshore Hero dashed well for third after making his run second last from gate 10. It was a smart debut effort. Speed Sword ran on well for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was his best run from 10 starts. The Prime made ground late for fifth after biding his time two from the rear. It was an improved effort second up with a move to blinkers and switch to the Valley. Lucky Planet was stopping 100m out after rushing forward to lead at all costs 750m out following a tardy start. It was not smart judgement as he has done well ridden more conservatively in the past. Qingyuan Star ran on late without threatening after settling last from gate 11. Valhalla was disappointing after a speed-tracking run.
