Early favourite Copartner Prance just settled prominently on the inside from gate one and held off the late surge of Lucky Encounter for a sixth win. Lucky Encounter ran on nicely to make it close on the wire after a prominent run one off the fence at his first Valley start. He is ready for a return to the winners' circle. Raging Blizzard ended third after dashing nicely along the inside to challenge for the lead 150m out from behind midfield following a tardy start. It was a good effort first up since April. Tomodachi Kokoroe was a game fourth after getting posted wide and without cover the entire trip in a prominent spot from gate 12. Sing Dragon came from last at the 150m for fifth without threatening the top four. He has run with merit in each of his three starts on the turf this season. Six Pack ran on reasonably well near the inside to finish next best from towards the rear. It was a positive debut effort in Hong Kong. Gorgeous Win was never a factor after a torrid trip from behind midfield.

Race Ten : (138) - GUANGZHOU HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 COPARTNER PRANCE (H408) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) H Bowman On jumping knuckled over, became unbalanced and lost ground.

Near the 900 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by DANCING CODE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

After the event, H Bowman stated that after losing ground at the start SUPERB CAPITALIST settled further back than anticipated and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) K Teetan Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 4 BEAUTY CHARGE (G231) M Chadwick Bumped shortly after the start.

Horse No 5 LUCKY ENCOUNTER (H274) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 GORGEOUS WIN (J008) M F Poon Near the 1150 Metres was placed in restricted room between SING DRAGON and WONDERSTAR which shifted out slightly.

Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied and crowded by DANCING CODE which was taken in by TOMODACHI KOKOROE (K Teetan) which lay in at that point.

K Teetan was advised to exercise more care and to make a greater effort in similar circumstances to prevent his mounts from shifting in.

After the event, M F Poon stated that after his mount was crowded in the early stages, it was then obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter.

He added as a consequence GORGEOUS WIN was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 RAGING BLIZZARD (H368) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and was checked shortly after when crowded between SING DRAGON and DANCING CODE which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

Held up on the Home Turn.

Horse No 8 DANCING CODE (G365) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that after his mount commenced well, he was able to obtain a handy position, however, DANCING CODE travelled a little keenly and as a result did not finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 SEASONS WIT (H223) C Y Ho Approaching the 450 Metres was bumped by SIX PACK which shifted in.

Horse No 10 SING DRAGON (J141) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and was crowded shortly after the start.

From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 12 SIX PACK (K061) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by LUCKY ENCOUNTER which shifted out.

Shifted in approaching the 450 Metres and was bumped.
