Race Two : (122) - SHEK UK SHAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 SMART LEADER (B456) K De Melo Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SUPER CHARIZZARD (J184) H Bowman Near the 250 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between EXCELLENT DADDY and VULCANUS which shifted out.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 4 HIGH RISE POWER (H353) B Avdulla As the start was effected, simultaneously became fractious, jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
After the 900 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.
After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount was disadvantaged when it lost ground on jumping and this was the main reason for its disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 VULCANUS (J150) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly and was bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 7 GALLANT GOODY (H434) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 SUPER JOY (G251) M Chadwick Bounded on jumping, got its head up and lost ground.
After the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted in when being steadied away from RATTAN WORLD and as a result made contact with HIGH RISE POWER which became unbalanced.
In the Home Straight lay out.
After the event, M Chadwick stated that after losing ground at the start his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 CALIFORNIA ICON (H404) H Bentley Raced keenly in the early stages and lay out in the middle stages when making the turn.

Horse No 12 REGENCY HAPPY STAR (H248) P N Wong Shortly after the start shifted in, made contact with VULCANUS and became unbalanced.

After a prominent run wide without cover, old-timer Smart Leader got up 60m out for a fifth win from 81 starts and first from seven tries over the dirt 1,200m. Rattan World dashed nicely down the outside to finish a close second after turning the final bend one from the rear. He was second up and did run on well for fifth in his only other start over the dirt 1,200m. Excellent Daddy ran on well for third after a wide trip with cover behind midfield from gate 12. It was his best run in a while following a return to the dirt. Well-fancied favourite Patch Of Watch found a few too good after reclaiming the lead 100m out following a trailing run behind pacesetter Regency Happy Star. It was his best effort from 10 starts. Vulcanus stayed on without threatening after a one-off trip in midfield. It was an OK effort on the back of a second at his first go on the all-weather surface last month. Regency Happy Star was on his tippy toes 150m out after easily clearing to the front at the 800m. He went too hard in front. Both High Rise Power and Super Joy never figured after jumping slowly.
