Odds-on favourite Packing Hermod sat outside the leader from gate 12 and drew clear 200m out to remain unbeaten in three starts. He has a very bright future. Well-backed Super Infinity charged into second after a rail run from better than midfield. He has given a good sight in his past two runs in this grade following a Class Four success last month. Plunged in betting, Armour War Eagle ran on well along the inside for third from behind midfield on the fence. It was a return to form following a stable change to start the term. I Give grudgingly gave way after clearing to the lead from gate 10. He rarely produces a bad run over this trip. Captain Win ran on steadily to just miss the frame after slotting one off with cover from gate 14. He ran a bit flat off a seven-day rest. Giddy Up ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. Great State came up one-paced after settling in the box-seat from gate two. Magnificent Nine had an excuse after travelling five back and three deep without cover.

Race Eight : (118) - THE SHARED PROSPERITY 1200M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 PACKING HERMOD (J277) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 PERFUSE (J190) K De Melo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 GREAT STATE (J124) M L Yeung Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for a short distance for clear running behind PACKING HERMOD.

Horse No 8 GIDDY UP (J020) A Hamelin From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 9 GOKO WIN (H069) M Chadwick When questioned, M Chadwick stated that the intention was to find a position with cover.

He said when GOKO WIN commenced well today and was in advance of a number of runners to his inside, he elected to ride GOKO WIN forward to avoid racing wide.

He said as a consequence GOKO WIN settled more forward than what was anticipated.

Horse No 10 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.

Crowded leaving the 1000 Metres.

Horse No 11 THUNDER BLINK (J019) C L Chau Was positioned in the starting gate next to YOUNG SUPERSTAR when that runner became fractious, was removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Jumped only fairly.

Leaving the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded between ARMOUR WAR EAGLE and MAGNIFICENT NINE which was taken in by DASHING DRAGON (B Thompson) which, after initially shifting in and away from GOKO WIN (M Chadwick), then raced tight to the inside of that runner.

Both B Thompson and M Chadwick were reprimanded.

Horse No 12 SUPER INFINITY (J320) H Bentley Near the 300 Metres raced tight between GREAT STATE which shifted out slightly and GOKO WIN which shifted in and made contact with SUPER INFINITY.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 13 ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.

After the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from SUPER INFINITY.

Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance near the 400 Metres when positioned to the inside of GREAT STATE.

Approaching the 300 Metres again had some difficulty obtaining clear running behind I GIVE.

Horse No 14 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 YOUNG SUPERSTAR (J400) Y L Chung Became fractious in the barriers, lunged forward and got its head under the front starting gate.

Then became cast for a short time underneath the starting stalls before being removed.

Acting on veterinary advice that YOUNG SUPERSTAR was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, YOUNG SUPERSTAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
