Patch Of Time travelled better than midfield on the fence, moved to the lead 30m out and just scrambled in for a maiden victory at his 10th start. Blazing Wind ran on strongly to make it close on the wire after a rail run from behind midfield. He's close to a win. Harold Win just found just a couple too good after a one-off trip from midfield. He continues to hold his form well carrying top weight following a win. Colourful Winner lost a placing late after rushing to the lead 250m out chasing the quick pace of Motoman from gate 11. He isn't far off a win. Dragon Joy worked home well for fifth after settling third last from a wide draw. He is naturally coming to hand in his four starts. New Future Folks was doing his best work late after making his run three from the rear. He might prefer 1,400m or a mile now. Monarch County made some ground without threatening after a wide trip from behind midfield. It was a positive debut performance. Favourite Courier Aladdin never got into the act after a wide trip towards the rear from gate 14.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (116) - THE INSPIRING COMMUNITY 1200M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 COURIER ALADDIN (J387) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that from the outside barrier the intention was to ride COURIER ALADDIN in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid covering additional ground, particularly with his mount racing first up today.

He said with the pace of the event being run inside of standard time throughout the early stages, COURIER ALADDIN settled back in the field and from the 600 Metres he attempted to improve into the race three wide.

He added after entering the Home Straight COURIER ALADDIN made a respiratory noise and responded only fairly to his riding, but, in his opinion, would be better suited by being stepped up in distance for its next race start.

Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions and said such instructions were issued to avoid COURIER ALADDIN being obliged to race wide had he elected to go forward.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.

When caught wide in the early stages was shifted across behind MONARCH COUNTY to obtain cover.

Horse No 5 BLAZING WIND (J157) C Y Ho Approaching the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid PATCH OF TIME which shifted to the rail.

Over the final 100 Metres shifted out under pressure.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 DECRELOT (J551) H Bentley Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 7 MONARCH COUNTY (J421) H Bowman After the 700 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

Horse No 9 DRAGON JOY (J278) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by HAROLD WIN which shifted out abruptly.

DRAGON JOY was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages.

Horse No 11 LIFE OF STONE (J374) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.

Horse No 13 PATCH OF TIME (H483) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 SILVER DESTINY (J096) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from DECRELOT.
