Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (113) - THE COMMUNITY GROWTH 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 BALLISTIC WIN (J040) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 MASTER MASTERMIND (J024) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 HANDSOME BOMB (H402) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and was bumped on the hindquarters.
After the event, A Atzeni stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the lead.
He added in the Home Straight HANDSOME BOMB responded to his riding initially, but its run ended near the 150 Metres where it commenced to give ground and performed in a similar manner at its first up run on 15 September 2024.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 MIGHTY STRENGTH (H450) A Hamelin After the event, A Hamelin could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to run on in the Home Straight.
Trainer P F Yiu stated that, in his opinion, MIGHTY STRENGTH is still immature and this may have been the reason for it performing below expectation as compared to its previous race starts.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of MIGHTY STRENGTH was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, MIGHTY STRENGTH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 DURHAM STAR (E082) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by HANDSOME BOMB which shifted out.
Horse No 7 PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) M Chadwick Lay in in the Home Straight, resulting in its rider M Chadwick having to stop riding and straighten near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 9 EN PERFECTO (J409) M F Poon Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between FOXHUNTER KING and BALLISTIC WIN which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.
Horse No 10 POCHETTINO (J149) B Avdulla After the 150 Metres lay out and became awkwardly placed on the heels of BALLISTIC WIN.
Horse No 11 FOXHUNTER KING (J044) M L Yeung Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
After the event, M L Yeung stated that his mount raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and came under pressure from the 600 Metres before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, FOXHUNTER KING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 13 SUPER TAICHI (J201) H Bentley A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
As this was the second occasion that SUPER TAICHI had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.
Horse No 14 FIGHT TIME (H409) A Badel On jumping was checked when crowded between POCHETTINO which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and FOXHUNTER KING.
After the event, A Badel stated that his mount became held up for clear running after the 400 Metres behind JUMBO FORTUNE and as a result he was obliged to shift FIGHT TIME to the outside where it obtained clear running near the 250 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 PATCH OF LUCKY (J349) L Ferraris Prior to the start being effected reared, got both front legs over the starting gates and also struck its head and sustained a small abrasion to its upper gum.
Acting on veterinary advice that the horse was not suitable to race, it was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, PATCH OF LUCKY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Well-backed late, Master Mastermind made his run five back and three wide with cover, quickening nicely down the outside to take control 200m out for back-to-back wins. Fight Time finished well for second after coming off the rail from midfield upon straightening. It was his best run from seven starts. Favourite Ballistic Win closed off well for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest effort carrying topweight. Jumbo Fortune whacked on one-paced after a prominent run. He has gone well in both starts for his new trainer this term. Pochettino produced a onepaced effort after a handy run one off the fence. He went OK with a step up to 1,400m at just his third career start. Yee Cheong Raider was doing his best work late settling third last after a slow start. Pearl Of Pang's had little left in the tank 100m out after leading one off outside Handsome Bomb from the 1,050m. It wasn't a bad effort after a tough run. Patch Of Lucky was withdrawn at the gate by order of the stewards on vet advice.
