Horse No 1 CALIFORNIA VOCE (H258) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Briefly crowded approaching the 1500 Metres.
Horse No 2 SIMPLY MAVERICK (H346) A Atzeni After the event, A Atzeni could offer no excuse for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 FRANTANCK (H429) M F Poon A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 4 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 5 IVY LEAGUE (H116) K De Melo Near the 550 Metres brushed the running rail.
Over the final 150 Metres was held up for clear running and could not be tested when positioned behind SOLEIL FIGHTER.
Horse No 6 AESTHETICISM (H289) Z Purton Crowded shortly after the start.
Approaching the 1500 Metres was eased when tightened for room between CALIFORNIA VOCE and CHAIN OF GOLD which shifted out slightly.
Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out to the finish when racing in restricted room between SOLEIL FIGHTER and SIMPLY MAVERICK.

Horse No 12 RED MAJESTY (E028) A Hamelin Whilst proceeding to the Start, A Hamelin was dislodged and after arriving at the Start riderless the horse was resaddled.

Jumbo Legend came with a bold move from last and widest to just nip Glorious Journey on the wire to ring up a fourth career win from 31 starts. He was suited by the pace and relished the light weight with a return to the Valley. Glorious Journey did everything right but get the win after rushing to the lead 100m out from behind midfield. He is close to a win. Chain Of Gold got up late to just take third after making his run five back and one off the fence. It was another honest performance. Red Majesty just missed out on a placing after settling one off the rail in better than midfield. He is as honest as the day is long. Mighty Steed just got his nose down late for fifth after a prominent run on the fence. He will be hard to beat with Class Four looming large on the back of three positive runs. Soleil Fighter was swamped in the dying stages after moving to the lead 250m out following a speed-tracking run. It was a decent effort at his first go over the course. Simply Maverick peaked on his run 100m out after tracking the leading pair one off the fence. The big weight took its toll after chasing a strong pace.
