Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (105) - RACING SPIRIT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) Y L Chung In the early stages got its head up and raced ungenerously when being attempted to be shifted behind runners.
Near the 300 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters on a number of occasions and became unbalanced.
Horse No 3 APOLAR FIGHTER (J169) C Y Ho Shifted in on jumping and became unbalanced when bumped.
Horse No 4 SURE JOYFUL (G125) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 THE DOUBLE EAGLE (J342) K De Melo Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) M F Poon Shortly after the start was badly crowded for room between PRINCE ALEX which was taken out by SMART ZIPANG and APOLAR FIGHTER which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
Making the Home Turn was checked when badly held up for clear running behind SMART ZIPANG and did not obtain clear running until near the 350 Metres.
Horse No 7 SOLAR GOGO (H390) A Hamelin Jumped awkwardly.
From the 600 Metres was shifted to the outside of THE DOUBLE EAGLE to improve into the event and raced very wide and without cover thereafter.
In the Home Straight lay in when giving ground.
Horse No 8 FOREMOST TEDDY (J058) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 COURIER MAGIC (H290) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
For some distance near the 1500 Metres commenced to race keenly when being shifted behind APOLAR FIGHTER to obtain cover.
Approaching the 300 Metres improved into a tight run between WAH MAY WAI WAI and SOLAR GOGO which was giving ground and as a result made contact with WAH MAY WAI WAI on a number of occasions.
After the event, A Atzeni stated that the intention was to be a little closer in the run but from an awkward barrier he was obliged to race back in the field.
He said COURIER MAGIC raced keenly through the early and middle stages and after racing tight near the 300 Metres finished the race off well.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley Crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 12 SMART ZIPANG (J165) A Badel Shortly after the start became badly unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters.

Sure Joyful kept on gamely after working to the lead 200m out for a third win from 31 starts. He rarely produces a bad run over this Valley trip and was fitter for a fifth last month. Firming favourite Foremost Teddy ran on well for second after settling one off the rail from better than midfield. He is close to a win after placing in each of his three outings this term. Can't Go Wong finished well near the inside to snatch third after a patient ride two from the rear. He was naturally able to improve on a closing sixth first up this term. Highland Rahy just lost a placing late after tracking the speed outside the leader Super Baby. He should be able to find his mark shortly in this grade. Super Baby made his own luck in front as usual but had little left in the tank 50m out. Apolar Fighter ran on late near the outside to finish next best after settling one from the rear. It was a better effort first up for his new trainer. Prince Alex came up one paced over the final 100m after settling one off the rail behind midfield. It was a disappointing effort after nearly saluting last start.
