Race Five : (97) - FENCING 1200M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) P N Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 THRIVING BROTHERS (J396) Z Purton Near the 500 Metres was bumped by LOVING VIBES.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 ENDEARED (H161) H Bowman Near the 500 Metres was bumped and taken wider.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 WRITTEN CASA (J305) A Hamelin Near the 500 Metres was bumped and taken wider by CLASSIC CENTURY which shifted out to improve.
Horse No 7 CLASSIC CENTURY (J440) L Ferraris Shifted out near the 500 Metres and was bumped.
Horse No 9 LOVING VIBES (J359) C Y Ho After the event, C Y Ho stated that it was not his intention to hold a forward position, but after jumping only fairly, he rode his mount along in an endeavour to hold a competitive position.
He said after improving to the outside of CLASSIC CENTURY and then THRIVING BROTHERS, he was obliged to continue to improve forward to avoid racing wide.
He said as a consequence LOVING VIBES settled more forward than anticipated.
He added that his mount raced greenly and on the Home Turn shifted out and away from REWARDING TWINKLE and made contact with THRIVING BROTHERS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 REWARDING TWINKLE (J368) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 11 MASTER OF ALL (H177) M L Yeung Near the 900 Metres was steadied away from AWESOME TREASURE (Apprentice P N Wong) which, after shifting in to the lead when not quite clear, then eased the pace.
Apprentice Wong was advised in similar circumstances she must ensure that she is sufficiently clear of runners to her inside before she eases the pace of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 RUN RUN COOL (E322) L Hewitson After the 450 Metres was shifted to the outside of WRITTEN CASA to secure clear running and then raced tight between WRITTEN CASA and CAPITAL LEGEND for some distance thereafter.
Horse No 13 CIRCUIT MAXIMUS (J347) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
After the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of REWARDING TWINKLE to continue into clear running.
Horse No 14 GANGNAM STAR (H326) A Badel For some distance approaching the 900 Metres raced ungenerously when racing tight to the inside of CAPITAL LEGEND.
After the event, A Badel reported that his mount resented racing amongst horses and in the Home Straight responded only fairly to his riding.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Punted late, Awesome Treasure skipped clear by nearly three lengths 300m out after reclaiming the lead rounding the final bend for a third career win and second over the Sha Tin 1,200m from 32 starts. Master Of All ran on steadily along the inside for second after a prominent run on the fence. It was another honest performance. Thriving Brothers stayed on a non-threatening third after a one-off run from better than midfield. He should find his mark shortly in this grade. Endeared just failed to get up for a placing after a wide without cover trip from midfield. It was a better effort following a downgrade. Classic Century ran on to finish next best after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a positive debut performance. Gangnam Star ran on without threatening from towards the rear. He went OK but is a Class Five horse. Capital Legend made only a mild bid down the outside after settling wide towards the rear. Circuit Maximus had an excuse when failing to obtain a clear run until the 150m.
