Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (69) - CHENGDU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 ENJOY GOLF (J222) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman reported that after being held up for clear running in the early stages of the Home Straight ENJOY GOLF responded only fairly to his riding and raced "flat" A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 GOR MO TUEN (J434) C L Chau From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
At the 400 Metres was directed to the inside of YUEN LONG ELITE to continue into clear running.
Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres GOR MO TUEN was then held up behind AMAZING DUCK when that runner was giving ground.
Horse No 3 I AM THE BOSS (H446) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
After the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when racing tight to the inside of JUMBO FORTUNE.
Horse No 4 ALL RICHES (G060) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 YUEN LONG ELITE (J272) M L Yeung Passing the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind RED ACLAIM and when being shifted out to obtain clear running made contact with MAJESTIC SPEED.
When questioned, M L Yeung stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position, but his mount failed to show sufficient pace to do so.
He added near the 1200 Metres he was steadied away from CHARITY FOR ALL which resulted in YUEN LONG ELITE settling further back in the field than what had been intended.
Horse No 6 AMAZING DUCK (H392) M F Poon After the event, M F Poon reported that his mount coughed after passing the winning post.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING DUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 RED ACLAIM (J017) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 SIXTH GENERATION (G120) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1200 Metres was steadied when crowded between RED ACLAIM (A Atzeni) which shifted in slightly before being corrected and MAJESTIC SPEED which was taken out slightly by YUEN LONG ELITE which shifted out when being steadied to avoid CHARITY FOR ALL (B Avdulla) when that runner shifted in when not quite clear.
Both A Atzeni and B Avdulla were advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 9 MAJESTIC SPEED (J018) K H Chan Jumped only fairly.
Crowded near the 1200 Metres.
After the 400 Metres and again after the 300 Metres was bumped and taken wider.
Horse No 10 CHARITY FOR ALL (H417) B Avdulla After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on CHARITY FOR ALL at the request of Trainer C S Shum.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed the horse to have an epiglottic entrapment and a dorsal displacement of the soft palate.
Horse No 11 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) K Teetan Near the 350 Metres raced tight between ENJOY GOLF and CHARITY FOR ALL which shifted in slightly when giving ground.
After the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of VIEW OF THE WORLD to continue into clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Following a wide trip without cover at times, View Of The World kept up a strong gallop after quickening nicely to lead 150m out for a maiden win at his third start. He relished a rise in trip and there's likely more to come from him. Jumbo Fortune wove a run to finish a close second after travelling midfield on the fence. It was a good run first up for Hong Kong's newest trainer and he should be saluting shortly. Yuen Long Elite jumped out of his skin late down the outside to snatch third after a one-off trip behind midfield. It was a good performance over a longer trip after a pleasing fifth on opening day. Post-time favourite All Riches gradually faded after emerging with the lead from gate nine. He had his chance. Team Happy peaked on his run 100m out after tracking the speed from gate 13. It was an OK effort carrying more weight following a win last month. Sixth Generation ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. He might be better suited to a mile these days.
