After a patient ride second last from a wide draw, favourite Winning Gold roared home down the outside to pick off Top Gun in the dying stages for a third straight win. Top Gun found one just too good after moving to the lead 100m out after a wide with cover trip from better than midfield. It was a return to form after misfiring twice. Lo Pan Spirit kept on well for third after working forward three deep to eventually track the leader Unpresuming from a wide draw. He should win a race shortly after giving a good sight in both starts this term. It was a typical performance by The Heir, who was doing his best work late to just miss a placing. Never Too Soon came from near last for fifth after switching into the clear at the 300m. Mighty Steed ran on steadily without threatening after a one-off trip from behind midfield. Jolly Ruler gradually faded after chasing the speed three wide without cover. Find My Love whacked on one paced after getting held up early in the straight following a prominent run on the fence.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten : (74) - TIANJIN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 TOP GUN (J249) Z Purton Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied when positioned close to the heels of BEAUTY GLORY and tight to the inside of JOLLY RULER (A Atzeni) which was placed close to the heels of UNPRESUMING.

Notwithstanding the fact that BEAUTY GLORY was unable to shift to the rail which had contributed to this incident, A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 FIND MY LOVE (H110) M L Yeung M L Yeung was fined $2,000 for initially presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.

After the event, M L Yeung stated that his mount, which was racing first up today, would derive benefit from today's performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 NEVER TOO SOON (E434) P N Wong Crowded on jumping and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 6 JOLLY RULER (E346) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 7 FUN TOGETHER (H041) C L Chau From the 400 Metres until passing the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 9 WINNING GOLD (H461) K De Melo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the 200 Metres K De Melo dropped his left rein for a short distance.

Horse No 10 THE WAY WE WIN (J493) K C Leung After the event, K C Leung reported that his mount made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping which resulted in his saddle shifting.

He said as a consequence THE WAY WE WIN jumped awkwardly and settled back in the field as he took some time to rebalance his saddle.

Horse No 11 MIGHTY STEED (J384) C Y Ho Crowded near the 900 Metres.

Horse No 12 ARIEL (G223) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold a forward position.

He said from his wide barrier and when his mount did not show sufficient pace, ARIEL settled further back in the field than anticipated.

Horse No 13 ROMAN CROWN (J456) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was crowded.

Steadied near the 900 Metres.

Near the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded by MIGHTY STEED which raced tight to the inside of ARIEL when that runner lay in and BEAUTY GLORY (B Avdulla) which shifted out and away from FUN TOGETHER as that runner commenced to shift out.

B Avdulla was advised, where possible, to make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting ground.

Over the concluding stages could not be fully tested when positioned close to MIGHTY STEED.

Horse No 14 UNPRESUMING (H143) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from the right nostril.

An endoscopic examination conducted on UNPRESUMING confirmed the horse to be a bleeder.

As this was the second occasion that UNPRESUMING had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.
