Recap by phillip woo

Punted late, Spicy Gold made a good bid down the centre of the track to take control 30m out and claim back-to-back wins after settling one off the rail in midfield. He has really come into his own now and can win again. Shinkansen ran on nicely with one wider out to finish a close second after a patient ride three from the rear. He was able to back up a placing last Wednesday. Glory Cloud stayed on well for third after a prominent run one off the fence. It was a pleasing effort after a defeat with blood in his trachea. Post-time favourite Aurora Lady gradually faded after clearing to the lead from gate 10. He can bob up at any moment. Early favourite New Power kept on OK after a handy run on the fence. It was a run with merit after knee surgery in June. Beauty Destiny was on his tippy toes 100m out after prompting the pace from a tricky gate. He likely needed the run after coming away a bleeder and with a heart irregularity in May. Prime Mortar never landed a blow after fading back to settle towards the rear in the middle of the race. It was an out-of-character effort.
