Horse No 1 TAJ DRAGON (H164) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 PACKING TREADMILL (G161) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 5 THE GOLDEN SCENERY (E379) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 CHIU CHOW SPIRIT (H175) A Badel Noted to have blood in its mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
After the event, A Badel stated that his instructions were to find cover.
He said approaching the first turn when he felt the pace of the event eased, he elected to allow CHIU CHOW SPIRIT to stride forward which resulted in it racing wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
He added in the Home Straight CHIU CHOW SPIRIT finished the race off only fairly which he attributed to the horse not appreciating the Good to Yielding track conditions.
After considering his explanation and the sectional times of the event, the Stewards found the tactics adopted were reasonable in the circumstances.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a roarer which had previously been reported.
Sent for sampling post-race.

The Golden Scenery quickened nicely after gaining a split 150m out to win going away in the deep stretch after a three back run on the fence for a sixth local win and fourth over 1,400m from 42 starts. He was able to repeat a first up success on a wet track last season. Taj Dragon found one too good on the day after hitting the lead 200m out following a box-seat run. It was another solid 1,400m effort carrying top weight. Veteran Healthy Happy faded late to finish a non-threatening third after clearing to the lead from an outside gate 1,150m out. He goes well first up. Packing Treadmill just held onto fourth after a pace-stalking run. It was a better effort at his second outing this term. Odds-on favourite Chiu Chow Spirit found little in the run to the wire after circling the field from last 800m out to sit fourth without cover coming to the final bend. He had an excuse. Punted late Wonder Kit just whacked on one paced after a prominent run one off the fence. He is not good enough at this level.
