Forever Glorious led and fought on doggedly after turning for home a length on top for a fourth career win and second over the Valley 1,800m. He is as honest as the day is long. Punted late, Dragon Star kept on gamely after working forward three wide to eventually sit outside the leader rounding the first bend from gate 10. He was able to build on a closing fourth last Wednesday over a mile trip. Storm Winner kept on well for third after a prominent run. He has flashed ability in his six starts and can deliver shortly on a win line. Favourite Me Time had his chance but had to settle for fourth after a box-seat run. It was another positive effort after ending last season with a career-best second. Flying Silver made a mild bid after settling one the rail in midfield. He tends to mix his form. Winning Steps produced a grinding effort after travelling one off the rail behind midfield. He appeared to need the run. Specked late in betting, Little Fairy made some ground without threatening after biding his time one from the rear from gate 12. He does appear from his two runs to be on his mark after ending last season with a win in Class Five.

Horse No 1 SERANGOON (H296) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 WINNING STEPS (G420) K Teetan Shortly after the start was crowded by FLYING SILVER which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

Horse No 4 AFFORDABLE (J242) K C Leung Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 5 DRAGON STAR (H128) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 FLYING SILVER (E478) Y L Chung Held up making the Home Turn.

Horse No 9 PEGASUS GENERAL (G189) M Chadwick A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 ME TIME (J074) A Badel Crowded shortly after the start.

Near the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid FOREVER GLORIOUS (A Atzeni) which shifted in when not clear.

A Atzeni was severely reprimanded.

After the event, A Badel stated that he was given no specific instructions, but in the early stages when positioned to the outside of WINNING STEPS and FLYING SILVER, he elected to go forward to cross those runners to avoid racing wide and as a result settled in a forward position.

Trainer D J Whyte confirmed the instructions were not to go forward but advised that he understood the reasons as to why Jockey Badel elected to cross runners to his inside in the early stages which resulted in ME TIME settling in a more forward position than what he had anticipated.
