Recap by phillip woo
Matsu Victor remarkably found the required stamina to surge down the outside from the rear of the field and land his first career victory in impressive style. The son of U S Navy Flag was three wide throughout, made steady headway up the straight and dug deep to win going away at the line. Red Majesty hugged the rail in fourth and travelled powerfully around the bend, but did not find enough to get the better of the four-yearold. Matthew Poon Ming-fai set honest early fractions aboard Foremost Teddy and built up a two-length lead turning for home, but only found one pace when push came to shove in the closing stages. Despite Karis Teetan's urgings to go forward, Dragon Star settled in midfield in the early exchanges and kept on reasonably under pressure to grab fourth close for home. Viva Hunter tracked the leaders but only kept on at one pace and lost fourth in the closing stages. Durham Star and Little Fairy had plenty of work to do from the rear of the field and kept on reasonably to finish sixth and seventh, respectively. Atomic Beauty was never in contention.
