Recap by phillip woo
Chiu Chow Spirit made it two Class Two victories on the bounce, surging home from midfield in a race devoid of early pace to salute by a length and three quarters. After taking a little while to hit his straps, Manfred Man Ka-leung's five-year-old will now find himself on a rating in the 90s. Superb Boy looked to have the race sewn up after stalking a slow pace set by Frantanck and briefly taking control at the 300m, however he was no match for Chiu Chow Spirit's turn of foot and had to make do with second. He was more than a length clear of the third-placed Karma, however, and does look to have a win in him soon. Karma ran on nicely from near the back of the field and will appreciate stepping back up to a mile. Keefy kept on one paced for fourth, while Ching was the other galloper to make some ground from the back and he hit the line powerfully to finish fifth.
