Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (829) - PINGWU SPARK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 DREAM WINNER (H308) C Y Ho Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a ""roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 3 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) K De Melo After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount was making a respiratory noise during the running of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 GOKO WIN (H069) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 5 SILO (J399) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly, resulting in its rider H Bentley becoming unbalanced.
From the 350 Metres until the 250 Metres was held up for clear running behind BITS SUPERSTAR which was giving ground.
Horse No 8 BITS SUPERSTAR (J362) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan stated that from the outside barrier and his mount having its first race start in Hong Kong, he had to make use of it to lead the event.
He said as a result BITS SUPERSTAR failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 MONTA FRUTTA (H455) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.
Held up making the Home Turn and did not obtain clear running until near the 400 Metres.
Approaching the 100 Metres was shifted to the outside of GOKO WIN to continue into clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 EXCELLENT FIGHTER (G343) M F Poon After the race was found to have bled from both nostrils and to have a heart abnormality pending further assessment.
Before being allowed to race again, EXCELLENT FIGHTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 12 PACKING HERMOD (J277) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and then bumped with GOKO WIN.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 YEAH BUDDY (J430) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between VIVA GRACIOUSNESS and BITS SUPERSTAR.

Favourite Packing Hermod drew clear to win with something in hand after claiming the lead 350m out following a speed chasing run on the fence to remain perfect in two starts. Dirt specialist Monta Frutta jumped out of his skin late through the middle to grab second in the deep stretch after biding his time one from the rear. It was his best effort from three starts on the turf. Super Joy N Fun stayed on nicely for third after punching the breeze in third outside the eventual winner from a wide draw. Goko Win stayed on fourth best after getting posted wide without cover from better than midfield the entire trip. Phoenix Light just failed to fill the frame from behind midfield. He's had a good campaign but does appear from recent runs to be on his mark. Reward Smile ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. The big weight didn't help.
