Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (825) - VICTORY MARVEL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 KA YING WARRIOR (H028) C L Chau Shifted in at the start, resulting in its rider C L Chau having to correct his mount.
After the race, C L Chau reported that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount but was unable to lead when FUNG showed superior speed to his inside.
He said in the Home Straight KA YING WARRIOR failed to respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of KA YING WARRIOR was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, KA YING WARRIOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 3 DEAL COMPLETED (J378) Y L Chung Near the 100 Metres lay in towards KA YING WARRIOR which was giving ground and as a result was steadied away from the heels of that runner.
Horse No 4 FIRST LOVE (J355) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LUCKY GENERATIONS (J338) H Bowman In the middle stages raced keenly.
Horse No 6 PACKING ANGEL (J454) L Hewitson Near the 850 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by FUN N GLORY which shifted in before being corrected by its rider H Bentley.
When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, L Hewitson state that after following KA YING WARRIOR, his intention was to shift to that runner's outside to secure clear running.
He said as he endeavoured to do so near the 350 Metres, PACKING ANGEL lay in and was reluctant to shift out due to FUN N GLORY being positioned to his outside.
He added as a result he then looked to improve to the inside of KA YING WARRIOR, but when that runner shifted in, PACKING ANGEL then became held up behind KA YING WARRIOR until after the 250 Metres.
Horse No 7 VIEW OF THE WORLD (J348) A Badel Shortly after the start was crowded between X FACTOR and HAPPY FOR ALL which was taken in by KA YING WARRIOR when that runner shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 X FACTOR (J156) M F Poon After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when it bumped with VIEW OF THE WORLD.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 FUNG (J101) H T Mo Bumped at the start.
After the race, H T Mo stated that his instructions were to settle where comfortable.
He said FUNG commenced well and with blinkers on for the first time raced keenly in the early stages.
He said as a result he allowed FUNG to stride forward and lead the event.
Horse No 11 FUN N GLORY (G003) H Bentley Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 HAPPY FOR ALL (H181) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was bumped heavily and became unbalanced.
Horse No 14 LORD OF THE ROSE (J297) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Firming favourite First Love responded nicely to win going away 100m out after a one-off trip from behind midfield for a maiden win following an encouraging debut effort 13 days ago. Fun N Glory did everything right but get the win after moving to the lead 200m out after chasing the leading pair one off the fence. He has shown good form in his past three starts following a stable transfer. Sugar Ball ran on nicely to snatch third after making his run five back and one off the fence. It was clearly his best run from nine local starts. Packing Angel stayed on well to just miss a placing after a prominent run. It was a good debut performance. Omakase came up one-paced after a handy run wide without cover from gate 14. It was a positive effort but he's still a work in progress. Happy For All ran on late near the outside to just miss the frame after making his run at the rear from gate 12. He has been good money spinner without winning this season.
