Mighty Strength just got up in the final few metres for an upset win after making his run four back on the fence. He was just having his third start but did relish the rise in trip. Circuit Mighty finished well to make it close on the wire after travelling one off with cover outside the eventual winner. It was a return to form. Run Run Timing was collared late after surging to the lead near the 160m. He can break through shortly in this grade. Favourite Super Infinity ran on well to just miss a placing after a rail run from midfield. It was another honest effort. Fighting Machine was doing his best work late for fifth without threatening the top four after making his run five back on the fence. Call Me Supreme ran on without threatening after biding his time two from the rear. He is still learning the ropes but has shown hints of ability in his five starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (790) - RIDING HIGH TOGETHER 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 2 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) Z Purton Rounding the Home Turn FIGHTING MACHINE improved into a narrow run between STARMEN and MIGHTY STRENGTH (A Hamelin) which was taken out slightly by SUPER INFINITY.

As a result, FIGHTING MACHINE then raced tight between MIGHTY STRENGTH and STARMEN for some distance approaching the 400 Metres.

Near the 350 Metres FIGHTING MACHINE then was checked when crowded between STARMEN which raced tight to the inside of CIRCUIT MIGHTY and MIGHTY STRENGTH which shifted out slightly.

After considering the incident in its totality, the Stewards reprimanded A Hamelin for allowing his mount to shift out slightly which contributed to the interference to FIGHTING MACHINE.

Horse No 3 SUPER INFINITY (J320) H Bowman Approaching the 200 Metres was directed to the outside of RUN RUN TIMING to obtain clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 GOLDEN BULL (H019) L Hewitson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a roarer which had previously been reported.

Horse No 5 SMASHING EXPRESS (J252) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 6 ALWAYS FLUKE (H252) C Y Ho A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 MIGHTY STRENGTH (H450) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly.

Leaving the 200 Metres was brushed by CIRCUIT MIGHTY which shifted in slightly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 STARMEN (J199) M L Yeung Near the 350 Metres was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and then was checked to avoid CIRCUIT MIGHTY.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 14 SPEEDY CHARIOT (H193) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni reported that from the outside barrier he was asked to take up a forward position.

Trainer D J Whyte confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions as SPEEDY CHARIOT had been racing in a disappointing manner by being ridden conservatively in the early stages.
