Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (788) - THE GUANGDONG-HONG KONG CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 NEBRASKAN (J304) Z Purton Approaching the 900 Metres raced keenly when being crossed by AFFIRM.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that his mount raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.
He said near the 300 Metres when a run presented between AFFIRM and SIGHT HAPPY, his mount did not immediately quicken to take advantage of that run which he contributed to the manner in which it raced throughout the early and middle stages.
He added after NEBRASKAN then commenced to respond to his riding approaching the 100 Metres, it then became held up for clear running between AFFIRM and SUPER BONUS, both of which shifted ground slightly and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.

Horse No 3 SEA AIR LEGEND (H318) H T Mo Shortly after the start was bumped heavily by TAIHANG SCENERY and became unbalanced.
After the race, H T Mo reported that his saddle shifted to the left side on jumping, placing him at some disadvantage throughout the event.
Horse No 4 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) C L Chau As the start was effected reared and as a consequence lost considerable ground.
The barrier manners of DAY DAY VICTORY were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DAY DAY VICTORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 FLYING LUCK (J339) C Y Ho Lay in in the Home Straight when placed under pressure and near the 100 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of TAIHANG SCENERY to obtain clear running.
Horse No 6 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) B Thompson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For a short distance approaching the 50 Metres raced tight to the inside of AFFIRM which shifted in.

Horse No 7 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) K Teetan Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of TAIHANG SCENERY.
Horse No 8 SPORTIC WARRIOR (J385) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 9 MR VALIANT (G288) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position, but when a number of runners to his inside commenced well and held their positions, he was obliged to race further back than intended to avoid racing wide.
Horse No 10 TAIHANG SCENERY (J314) H Bowman Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped heavily.
After being crossed by SIGHT HAPPY leaving the 1000 Metres commenced to over-race soon after and got its head up when being steadied away from that runner's heels.
Horse No 11 SUPER BONUS (H259) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 13 SUPER CHARIZZARD (J184) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Super Bonus got up 60m out after rolling forward three wide from gate 13 to sit outside the leader Affirm 800m out for back-to-back wins. He's in a purple patch of form and can win another before season's end. New Future Folks ran on strongly near the inside to finish a close second after turning the final bend one from the rear. It was a solid debut effort. Punted late Taihang Scenery stayed on nicely to finish a close third after a handy run. He had his chance, but it was an improved effort at his third career start. Affirm grudgingly gave way after dictating the run from gate 10. He has been quite consistent without winning. Nebraskan was short of room over the late stages after a prominent run on the fence from gate one. He had an excuse. Flying Luck got going to finish next best after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He is still a work in progress.
