Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Gangnam Star responded nicely to get up 150m out after a rail run from midfield for a first win at his 12th start. He was able to go one better over 1,400m after dropping into Class Five for a second in April over 1,200m. Precision Goal just got up for second after a one-out, one-back run. He had been racing well on the turf prior to a last start defeat on the dirt. Aromatica filled a placing despite coming up one-paced over the final 50m following a one-off trip from midfield. He proved a runner-up result last start when trying the 1,400m was not a fluke. Asian One kept plugging away to just win a battle for fourth after a box-seat run. It was another positive effort following a win on the dirt. Dragon Kingdom grudgingly gave way after moving to the lead 300m out following a pace-stalking run. He is staring retirement in the face.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (784) - UNCOMPROMISING INTEGRITY 1400M HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 CHILLI BABA (G339) H Bowman When questioned, H Bowman stated that from a wide barrier his intention was to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.

He said after travelling a short distance he had some concerns with the action of CHILLI BABA as it did not fully stretch out during the early and middle stages of the race.

He said making the Home Turn he encouraged CHILLI BABA to improve into the event, however, the horse took some time to respond to his urgings before finishing the race off reasonably well over the final 200 Metres.

He added after the event he could not identify any issue with the action of the horse.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CHILLI BABA will be routinely subjected to a further veterinary assessment tomorrow morning at which point the Stewards will determine whether any action will be taken against the horse.

Sent for sampling post-race.
