Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Arthur's Kingdom led and never looked back after setting lightning-fast fractions for a second win over the Valley 2,200m from his past three starts. He will remain in the grade and can win another. Go Go Go ran on steadily to finish a clear-cut second after travelling one-out, one-back. He continues to race well without winning. Punted late, Reliable Profit kept on gamely for third after a box-seat run. It was a positive effort trying the 2,200m for the first time. Keen Unity ran on late for fourth without threatening the top three after biding his time two from the rear. He can bob up every now and then. Kingly Demeanor gradually faltered after stalking the pace from gate four. He should be better suited over a shorter trip. Leather Master made some ground without menacing after settling on the rail behind midfield. He too is likely better suited over a mile or 1,800m trip. Absolute Sunshine only passed beaten rivals from the rear of the field despite a drop in class with a claimer on board. It looks like he has a bleak future.

Horse No 8 ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 FASTPASS (H040) M F Poon Shortly after the start was bumped by KINGLY DEMEANOR which shifted out.

When questioned regarding his riding in the middle stages and the reason FASTPASS raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres, M F Poon stated that his mount did not travel well throughout the event.

He said whilst he had a trailing position behind GO GO GO, he placed his mount under pressure near the 850 Metres to encourage it to travel and as he placed FASTPASS under pressure with the whip, it shifted out which allowed LEATHER MASTER to improve to his inside.

He added as a result FASTPASS was obliged to race wide and without cover from the 800 Metres, but never responded to his riding and gave ground in the Home Straight.

Trainer C H Yip confirmed that the intention had been to hold a handy position with cover, but agreed with Jockey Poon that FASTPASS had come under pressure in the middle stages which resulted in FASTPASS shifting out near the 800 Metres.
