Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (765) - EMERALD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 SERANGOON (H296) H Bentley Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Horse No 2 AFFORDABLE (J242) E C W Wong The performance of AFFORDABLE, which gave ground in the Home Straight, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, AFFORDABLE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 KIMBERLEY (H329) H Bowman After the race, H Bowman reported that his instructions were to go forward but after his mount was bumped at the start and when caught wide in the early stages, he elected to obtain a position back in the field with cover to avoid racing wide.
He added in the Home Straight KIMBERLEY responded only fairly to his riding and its run ended near the 200 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, KIMBERLEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 GALLANT HERO (E480) B Avdulla Crowded shortly after the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) M F Poon Approaching the 350 Metres was disappointed for clear running to the inside of MISTER DAPPER which shifted in and then was shifted to the outside where it obtained clear running approaching the 300 Metres.
Horse No 6 JOY OF SPRING (H383) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 MISTER DAPPER (H376) M Chadwick Crowded at the start.
Lay in in the Home Straight.
Horse No 8 STARSHIP EIGHTY (H022) K Teetan Kicked out with its hind legs as the start was effected and as a result lost ground.
After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight, raced in a disappointing manner and he could offer no explanation for the performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 GOOD GOOD (J224) A Badel On jumping was bumped by PAKISTAN FRIEND which shifted out.
Lay in in the Home Straight and approaching the 150 Metres shifted in and bumped HAPPY HERO.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 FURY AND GOLD (H202) A Atzeni Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 11 CIRCUIT NINE (G140) A Hamelin On jumping was crowded between MISTER DAPPER which shifted out slightly and FURY AND GOLD which shifted in abruptly.
Horse No 12 HAPPY HERO (G322) L Hewitson Bumped approaching the 150 Metres.
Horse No 13 PAKISTAN FRIEND (B370) Y L Chung Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Favourite Joy Of Spring got up 100m out after slotting one-off with cover in a handy spot mid-race from gate 13 for a first win. It was much deserved after placing six times from nine other starts. Good Good found one too good after going for home 180m out following a pace-pressing run outside Happy Hero. It was his best run from five starts. Punted late Volcanic Spark stayed on well for third after a prominent run on the fence. It was another honest performance. Serangoon made good ground late for fourth after biding his time two from the rear. It was one of his better performances. Sensationally backed Happy Hero gradually faded after dictating the run from gate 10. He went OK despite a step back in distance. Mister Dapper did not find much when push came to shove after chasing the leading pair with cover from gate two. Gallant Hero ran on without threatening after making his run five back and one off the fence.
