Recap by phillip woo
Early favourite Talents Ambition quickened nicely down the outside to take control 100m out after making his run at the rear for the most part for a first local win at his sixth start. He was able to build on a near win last start over 1,600m despite a switch in surface. Late-fancied favourite Perfect Team ran on well to easily take second after a prominent run on the fence. He is honest as the day is long on this surface. Berlin Tango ran on well for third despite getting held up along the inside for a good part of the straight following a rail run from behind midfield. It was another good run. Punted late Suruga Bay gradually faded after rushing to the lead along the inside 1,450m following an awkward start. He has shown progress in his past two on this surface from three local runs. Apache Pass ran on without threatening with one wider out from near last at the 600m. Alacrity stayed on OK to finish next best after chasing the speed wide without cover.
