Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (701) - VIVA PATACA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215) M Chadwick When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, Trainer C H Yip stated that the horse was advantaged by being down in grade today and also advised that BRIGHT INHERITANCE had pleased him in its track work and in particular when it competed in a jump out on 21 May 2024.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 CALIFORNIATOTALITY (H418) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 MARADO (E245) C L Chau Shifted in abruptly at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 4 TALENTS AMBITION (J136) H Bentley From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 DARING PURSUIT (G424) C Y Ho Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 6 SMILING TIME (E235) L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 MISTER DAPPER (H376) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 CIRCUIT FIERY (H475) Z Purton Crowded shortly after the start.
From the 400 Metres to the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
After the race, Z Purton could offer no excuse for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
Horse No 9 GOOD GOOD (J224) A Badel Jumped awkwardly.
After the race, A Badel stated that whilst he was given the option to go forward from a wide barrier, when caught wide in the early stages, his mount was not travelling well enough for him to make use of it to take up a forward position.
He added as a result GOOD GOOD was obliged to raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) K Teetan On jumping was bumped by MARADO which shifted in abruptly, resulting in JOYFUL PROSPERITY becoming unbalanced.
Approaching the 100 Metres was taken in by BRIGHT INHERITANCE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 12 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) K C Leung Bumped at the start.
Horse No 13 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) M F Poon Bumped shortly after the start.
Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
After the race, M F Poon stated that his mount lost momentum and was disadvantaged when held up between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 CHILLI BABA (G339) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
After the race, A Atzeni stated that his mount did not appreciate racing inside other horses and as a result did not fully stretch out in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bright Inheritance came from near last at the 1,100m with three wider out to take control 80m out for an upset win. He relished the downgrade after showing nothing in his first three starts. Talents Ambition came from last and near the outside to overhaul favourite Californiatotality for second. It was a solid run down in grade from gate 14. Joyful Prosperity ran on well for third after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. It was another honest effort. Californiatotality knocked up late after rolling forward to lead 1,100m out from gate 12. He couldn't offset a rise in weight following back-to-back wins. Daring Pursuit stayed on for fourth without threatening the top three after a rails run from midfield. It was only an okay effort with a step up to 1,600m. Mister Dapper finished next best after a prominent run wide without cover. He had an excuse. Good Good plugged on all right after getting posted wide travelling worse than midfield from gate 13. Circuit Fiery was a non-factor after a wide with cover trip from midfield. The step up to 1,600m backfired after back-to-back placings over the 1,400m.
