Favourite Smart Beauty was too smart after hitting the front 200m out following a rails run from behind midfield for a third win from 16 starts this term. He has been racing well all season long and another win will not surprise. Sensationally backed Speedster just claimed second ahead of Joyful Friendship after getting held up for a clear run until switching to the fence near the 200m following a box seat run. It was a return to form after failing to menace in three prior starts at this level. Joyful Friendship stayed on reasonably well for third after a handy run. He is building towards a win in his past three starts. Medic Elite ran on nicely from near last to place fourth. He is as honest as the day is long but tends to perform much better at the Valley. Foxhunter Way gradually faded after working forward three wide to sit outside the leader from gate 13. He isn't reliable. Right Honourable ran on without threatening after a one-off trip from midfield. Star Of Glory didn't have much left in the tank over the last 100m after dictating the run from gate two. Brother Pearl ran on to finish next best from the rear of the field.

Horse No 1 LADY BILLIE (H365) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 3 LOOKING COOL (G151) K Teetan Shortly after the start was bumped.

After the race, K Teetan stated that he could observe nothing amiss with his mount when it gave ground in the Home Straight, however, the horse, in his opinion, may have reached the end of its preparation.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 AROMATICA (H437) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a more forward position today.

Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions and stated that such instructions were issued on the basis that AROMATICA had performed disappointingly at its recent starts.

He added as the horse is one-paced, the instructions to go forward were to endeavour to offset its one-paced racing manner.

Horse No 7 SPLENDID STAR (G026) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 8 RIGHT HONOURABLE (A164) B Thompson Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced.

Raced keenly in the early stages.

Near the 400 Metres was bumped by JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP which shifted out to improve.

Horse No 9 SPEEDSTAR (G181) B Avdulla From the 400 Metres until the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to shift to the outside of FOXHUNTER WAY due to it being positioned to the inside of the heels of that runner.

Was then shifted to the inside of STAR OF GLORY to obtain clear running shortly after.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.

Before being allowed to race again, BROTHER PEARL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
