Recap by phillip woo
In a terrific finish, Taj Dragon just held off the late surge of Atullibigeal after hitting the lead in the final few metres following a prominent run for a sixth win from 11 starts over the 1,400m. The engagement of seven-pound claimer Ellis Wong worked the oracle. Co-favourite Atullibigeal came from last at the 200m to make it close on the wire. He rarely produces a bad run. Well-backed to jump equal favourite Wonder Kit was overhauled in the dying stages after working to the lead 150m out following a pace-pressing role outside Packing Treadmill. It was a good effort in defeat after prompting a genuine pace. Punted late Supreme Lucky ran on nicely to finish a close fourth after biding his time second last following a slow start. He proved a last start win in an easier grade was not a fluke. Packing Treadmill was on his tippy toes 60m out after rolling to the lead from gate two. He went a bit too hard in front. Healthy Happy found nothing in the run to the wire after getting posted wide during the early run chasing the speed.
